EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. 鈥?Interstate 70 is back open in Eagle County after a head-on crash shut down the highway for several hours and sparked a wildfire. US Highway 6 is expected to remain closed overnight, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. The crash initially shut down a 30-mile stretch of the interstate. dunk homme Colorado Department of Transportation The Eagle County Sheriff s Office said there was a head-on crash between two vehicles on Highway 6 at mile marker 155 in Wolcott. That collision sparked a wildfire, the sheriff s office said. US Highway 6 is closed between mile points 150 and 157 in both directions due to power poles that were damaged in the wildfire. The closure is expected to last overnight, according to CDOT. CDOT is recommending the below alternate route. The northern route goes up to Craig and Steamboat and the southern route goes down to Aspen and Twin Lakes.
